Should I be Embarrassed?

Today's prompt is all about 'sharing an embarrassing story', but here's the thing - I don't really get embarrassed (easily). I've shared some of my clumsy stories before, and I just don't have THAT much shame about any of them. I'm going to share a few little things that have happened recently that I probably SHOULD be embarrassed about (but I'm not), and then I'll share a repeat story from the blog (but hey, it's from like a year and a half ago and none of you have probably even heard it... so HA).

Anyway, here are a couple incidents that have happened recently that were not too lovely, but I can laugh at them (a lot):

  • The water in the shower scared me and I fell. I smashed my knee pretty hard against the side of the tub and had a really lovely welt and bruise that stayed for two weeks and I had to answer numerous questions about whether Justin was beating me or not. I was more embarrassed about the abuse questions than the actual fall and bruise.
  • A few weeks ago (anyone who is friends with me on facebook might have seen this status), I was in a public washroom and I THOUGHT I was alone. That is, until someone who was sitting in their stall WAY TOO QUIETLY sneezed, loudly, and I then screamed. The other person started to laugh, and laugh, and laugh some more. And I just finished my business, flushed and ran away left as quickly as possible.

  • And now for my favourite "embarrassing" story (that I've probably told way too many times) but it never gets old to me...

One day, I was on my way home from work (by bus) - I took bus #1, got off at the necessary stop and I was walking to stop #2 to catch the other bus that would take me home. As I was casually walking towards the second bus stop, I heard something behind me and turned just in time to see the bus coming towards me. I panicked and started to run.. because heaven forbid I should actually wait 10 minutes for the next bus.. no no, I needed to catch that bus NOW (in hindsight, this just makes me laugh).

I didn't have far to run, honestly. I only had to cross a main intersection (Broadway and Granville... it's pretty busy) and run about 3/4 of a block to the stop. I started running, casually, in the direction of the stop. The bus hasn't stopped yet, so I figured that if I ran at a steady pace, I'd make it in time. I had my purse slung over my shoulder, and a bag or two in my hands, and I was on my way to catching the bus that would take me home after a long day at the office.

As I was running across the intersection, I noticed that my pants were feeling a tad loose... too loose for my liking. I shrugged it off and kept running. By the time I got to the other side of the intersection, I could tell that my pants had completely fallen down my butt. I kept running (a little faster at this point) despite the fact that my butt was now showing to the public, because like I said - the thought of waiting for another bus was just a big no no. As I was running, my pants kept falling further and further down. I'm not kidding when I say that my pants were around my knees by the time I got to the bus. I would say at least 100 people saw me running down the street virtually pantless. I quickly threw my bags on the ground, pulled my pants up, scooped everything up into my arms and boarded the bus. For the record, everyone on the bus (including the bus driver) had seen this whole thing take place and they all had a little smirk on their faces when I paid my fare and took my seat.

But, like I said guys, no shame here...

Even though we don't like rules, every fun thing in life has them. So here are a few of ours:

    1. Please only link up a post if it matches with the day's topic.
    2. Make sure you either grab the button code and put it in the HTML portion of your post, or link back to at least one of the hosts.
    3. Go make some friends. Comments=Love

I have a tendency to get scared really easily in my house... Kind of like that screaming thing you did in the bathroom. I now just assume that any noises I hear are one of the many animals in the house and so when a person (like the new roommate who is not even here all the time) appears I scream.

I am dying over here. I would have been mortified, but sometimes you just don't care. After all, you just ran to catch a bus!

I probably would have ended up walking home in shame after that incident - I embarrass waaaay to easily!

Today's prompt has me dying with laughter. I'm glad I'm the only one in the building right now so I can actually laugh out loud at all the posts linked up

I would've been mortified getting on the bus after that. I love your "no dambs are given" attitude!

I took an elbow to the eye while playing volleyball a few weeks ago. Everyone asked me if I was being abused by my boyfriend. I answered them by saying- Y'all know that I don't have a boyfriend. They all thought that I had a mystery one I guess. Finally I just told them that the icecream man punched me in the face and sped off. They still believe it. Win.

LOL that bus story is so funny. I love that you'd rather show all those people your undies than just wait 10 mins, but I like that you committed to your decision hahaha

Good thing you didn't fart in the bathroom when you were "alone". That would have been embarrassing... oh wait.

The bathroom one! Lmao!!! That has happened to me, too. I thought I was alone and started singing. And then a toilet flushed. I waited until she left before I got up.
