The Last of the Ridiculousness

Farewell advent calendar, we'll be back for more super lame (which you know you love) jokes in 2015!

But, now that the advent has come to an end, I felt as though it was appropriate to share some of the outtakes that never made it to the blog. Some of these pictures make me laugh, one or two make me cringe, and basically this just summarizes what happens when Justin and I attempt to take pictures together. I could make collages out our selfie outtakes for days.

And because everything is funnier when it's in a GIF format...

Oh So Fortunate

Happy Holidays, everyone.

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas (and Boxing Day to my fellow Canadians). This was my first Christmas spent in Vancouver, away from my family and friends back home, and Justin made sure it was amazing so I wasn't too sad. He wins boyfriend points for this.

I'm not here to ramble about Christmas today though. I'm here to link-up with Juliette and Amber. These girls are hosting a link-up to play fortune teller for the day and make some predictions on what we think 2015 might bring. 2014 was pretty darn good to me - but I'll do a recap of that later this week. So, in point form, here's what I think will have happened by Christmas 2015.

By Christmas 2015, I will...
  • ... be engaged and planning my wedding
  • (... or Justin and I will have eloped)
  • ... be back on track and working hard towards my goal weight and won't get side-tracked like I did this year
  • ... have almost all of my debt paid off (I have a plan that shows my debt will be paid in full by Jan. 2016)
  • ... be happy with my savings account
  • ... continue to 'get uncomfortable' and take chances
  • ... visit home at least once, ideally twice
  • ... take a vacation with Justin where it's JUST the two of us
  • ... HAVE A PUPPY (okay, this isn't realistic, but a girl can DREAM)
  • ... get a new tattoo.. or two
  • ... relaunch my photography business
  • ... visit JULIETTE
Okay, I think that's enough day dreaming about what 2015 will look like.

I Spy With My Little Eye...

Disclaimer: I was provided with a pair of glasses from Firmoo to review and test out for this post. All opinions are my own.

Since I was in the 4th grade, I've been wearing glasses. At first, it was fun - picking out cool frames, trying on every pair in the store, getting to change the way I looked with one simple pair of frames.. but then as I hit Junior High and High School, it became so uncool to wear glasses and I started wearing contacts.

But, as everything does, my feelings towards glasses/contacts came full circle and I'm back to loving glasses and love switching back and forth between contacts and glasses on a day to day basis. Unfortunately, glasses can cost a pretty penny... I'm talking $200-$800 for ONE pair. Well, that's just not okay for my bank account. That's when I heard about Firmoo. They have SO many frames to choose from and their prices simply cannot be beat. If you're willing to pay $200 on a pair of glasses, you could probably buy 10 pairs from Firmoo for that price.

When it came time to choosing what type of frames I wanted to get, I knew I needed to pick something that would be flattering to my face - but I just didn't know where to begin. The awesome thing with Firmoo is that you can 'digitally' try on every pair of their frames. Meaning that you can upload a picture of yourself and it'll show you what every type of frame will look like on your face. This way you can get a better idea of what will look good and what won't. I "tried on" lots of different pairs:

I chose the black frames in the second screen shot. I felt like they suited me the best, and it was just a bonus that they basically matched my contact case.

(please note, the contact case is not available from Firmoo - this is my own case)

When I got my glasses in the mail I was pleasantly surprised. It only took a few days to get the glasses, and they arrived in a nice hard-shelled case (this is a bonus in my books).

I was so excited to try on my glasses when they arrived. In all honesty, I actually hated them for the first 30 minutes that I had them. They weren't what I expected, I felt like they weren't "me" and was regretting the pair that I had chosen. But after wearing them around the house and getting used to them, I actually started to really love them and thought they complimented my face pretty well.

This was my 'I don't know if I like these glasses yet' face. But, like I said, I quickly grew to love them and started wearing them more frequently.

I feel like this picture is straight out of a glasses advertisement (ha - not to toot my own horn or anything).

Anyway, overall, I have to say that I had a great experience with Firmoo - the customer service was great, my order shipped quickly and on time, and I'm really happy with the final product. I can't wait to order another pair (maybe after Christmas when my bank account is looking a little happier).

If you're interested in picking up a pair (or 2) of great CHEAP glasses, now is the time to do it! Firmoo is have a great sale, 30% off all frames, I promise you don't want to miss this.

Happy shopping.

Day Twenty & Twenty-One

Combining two days into one again, folks. Life has been hectic this past week leading up to Christmas. With Justin having his health issues and spending a night in the hospital, it's been a whirlwind with no time for anything extra (blog included). But we're back with two jokes for today to make up for it and we've got jokes lined up for the next couple days. WE ARE SO CLOSE TO CHRISTMAS, PEOPLE.

Day 20:

Who doesn't eat on Christmas?
.....

.....

A turkey because it is always stuffed.

Day 21:

What do you call a broke Santa?

.....

.....

It's Saint-NICKEL-LESS

Day Nineteen

Why don't you ever see Santa in the hospital?

.....

.....

Because he has private elf care.

Day Eighteen

Unfortunately, my better half has come down with the plague the flu, and the only time he has left our bed in about 36 hours was to go to the ER last night - so today I'm doing the advent alone. I felt like this joke was fitting since I'm a little sad to be without Justin today.

Why was the elf sad?

.....

.....

Because she had low elf-esteem.
