Happy 4th of July

Today is a day of celebration, a day of patriotism, and a day of
independence for all of you Americans. For me, today is just another Friday. Today is no different than yesterday - except that today is Friday, and Friday's are infinitely better than Thursday's... but that's neither here nor there, 'cause clearly I'm just rambling. Today is a day where gchat is a ghost-town and all of you people are off getting drunk, having a BBQ, watching fireworks, and whatever else you Americans do to celebrate. Rambling again, my bad.
So on Tuesday it was Canada Day here in the land of maple syrup and poutine, and a lot of you people blogged about Canadian stereotypes: what you thought our lives are like up here in the northern part of this fine continent, asking questions about our day to day lives, and asking if we really do say 'Eh?' a lot... which, yes, of course we do. Holy crap that's the longest sentence I've ever written. Phew. Anyway, today I'm going to turn the tables on all of you and blog about a couple of
American stereotypes from my point of view.
I apologize in advance if any of you get your panties in a wad/knickers in a knot over this post. Lighten up.
- You all have guns
This is just an assumption that I have. Based on the conversations that I've had with friends that live in America, and all of the TV shows and movies I've watched - I assume all Americans own at least one firearm.
- Everyone does stupid shit
... and records it. I mean, America's Funniest Videos, that has been around my ENTIRE life. This is not a new thing, you crazy folks have been doing stupid shit and filming it for decades... and I love every second of it.
- You're all alcoholics
... and I don't blame you one bit. Your alcohol is cheap. Dirt cheap. You people can buy $3 wine and complain when it goes up to $3.50 for a bottle. I'll just sit over here and cry about Canada's outrageous liquor prices while I cry into my $15 bottle of wine because that's the cheapest bottle at the store...
- You are TOO Patriotic
There's a fine line between being proud of your country and being obsessed with your country. More often than not (thanks to Pinterest, Reddit, and random memes everywhere) I see Americans that take their patriotism to a whole new level. You've got pride, you're obsessed with your freedom - WE GET IT.
That's basically all I've got. I hope you all have a great long weekend, and party extra hard for me since it's just another normal Friday for me. Happy 4th, you crazy Americans.

I'm glad we both picked up on complaining about our crazy liquor prices. My heart broke a little when I found out there is such thing as a $3 bottle of wine.

Haha fairly accurate actually. I grew up with guns in the house (& am getting my concealed handgun license soon), I do like drinking, I am overly patriotic, & I have been known to do a dumb thing or two...but usually when drinking ha.
All of these are exactly my stereotypes of Americans too, lol. And $3 bottles of wine is something I dream about...sigh.
I hate to say it, but all of these are pretty true! Well, maybe more or less so depending on which part of the country you're in. But still pretty true.
JUST because I woke up with a massave hangover this morning from haning out by myself cooking last night does not mean Im an american alcholoic. Although my breakfast screwdriver might beg otherwise...

All of your stereotypes are pretty stinkin' true! Well unless you go to CA or NY and then maybe a little less so (especially in the guns category), but every other state I have been to and with all the people I know, you're pretty spot on! haha
And that first photo is AWESOME SAUCE.. the only thing that would have made it 'more patriotic' is if he were riding an eagle instead of a bear.
