The Ugly Truth

Okay friends, it's time for me to be honest and share the ugly truth with you:
I get as ugly as humanly possible as soon as I get home.
Whether it's after a long day at the office, a movie with some friends, or a night out on the town... once I get home, I get ugly.

I know what you're thinking... but lezbehonest for a minute, okay? We all do it.
We don't like to admit it, but comfort is key when we're chilling at home. We all have our comfortable clothes that we put on as soon as we walk through the door. Sometimes I don't even get my jacket and shoes off before my pants are off and my yoga pants are on - okay, maybe that's a bit extreme, but you get my point.

Faith, what made you think about this? Well, I'm glad that you asked! Yesterday at lunchtime, I was sitting and chatting with a few of my colleagues (as I usually do) and this topic came up. A few of the ladies (who shall remain nameless) were telling me that they have full wardrobes of clothes that they wear only at home. "What do you mean?" I asked - I had never heard of such a crazy thing. They informed me that they had hundreds (hyperbole, much?) of old ratty t-shirts, pjs, shorts, etc. that they kept for the sole purpose of wearing only around the house. I thought this was absolutely insane. I asked them why they didn't just throw these clothes out, but they told me that it's all about comfort and they know that they look absolutely ugly lounging around the house in these old clothes, but they didn't care. I laughed, shook my head at them and shrugged it off.

Let's fast forward about 4 hours. I get home from work, play with the dog, and go to my bedroom to change into my comfy clothes. I was cold, so I opted for a pair of fleece pj pants, my ugg slippers and a tank top... but the tank top made me colder, so I grabbed a long sleeved shirt and threw it on. Then, that's when it happened. I caught my reflection in the mirror and HAD to laugh at how ridiculously ugly I looked. Earlier that day I had thought about how ridiculous my colleagues were, and here I was, doing the exact same thing. Apparently I was just denying it to myself... so now I want to come out and share it with everyone. This Is My Ugly Truth.

Because I have no shame... here is said ridiculous outfit:

Oh my GOSH I do the exact same thing. No word of a lie! I totally thought about how ugly I get when I get home and how loose fitting my ugly home clothes are - so I threw them all out! I decided that I would no longer be ugly at home. I only kept my cutest sweats and sweatshirts and tighter long-sleeved t-shirts. I threw everything baggy out. However, I still manage to make myself look like a complete and utter trainwreck by mixing and matching patterns and wearing mismatched socks under ballet slippers.

Dude, it's like you went into my home and wrote a report on me. Totally guilty! But but but - the bf does it too!! I HATE his gross trackpants and his stained hoodie, but now that you mention it - maybe he hates my pj pants and pilled sweater combo just as much?

SO what do we do about it?????

Ha ha ha, this is so insanely true. I have a plethora of ugly lounge clothing, including a nightgown with a cat on it and a tshirt with an armadillo. Don't ask. :p

Jillian - I did a HUGE New Year's cleaning on the weekend and did the same thing. I threw out anything and everything that was old, baggy, and I hadn't worn in at least 6 months. Unfortunately, I still managed to piece together items that looked ridiculous together - ha ha.

Ha ha ha! I think we ALL do it, honestly. But I don't know... we could all just continue to be 'Ugmy' (ugly/comfy). Or we can start a movement ;)

Oh my word! A cat nightgown and an armadillo t-shirt? You need to document this amazingness.
